PROTEIN: How Much Do I Need?
Approximately 25 grams per day is the goal. It is important to count the protein in the entire meal including your beverage, not just the meat. One serving size of meat is the size of one deck of cards. By this measure, we often eat a meat serving at least the size of TWO decks of cards which means we fulfilled our body’s requirement for protein for two days at this one meal without counting the rest of the food eaten at the same time. You can see how easy it is to become out-of-balance consuming to much acidic food in our culture and life style. This affects our blood pH. If the blood pH drops below 7.4, it become very acidic and cannot carry maximum oxygen to the cells to take glucose and make energy. You become sluggish and tired with low energy, because blood is getting more and more acid, or toxic. We create stress on our body due to diet.
Our body must maintain its pH balance. If we do not provide alkalinity through our food intake, our body will look within to pull out what it needs to maintain our pH balance. Sodium bicarbonate may be pulled from the gallbladder and dumped into the blood stream getting the blood back to a maximum pH, or it may pull calcium, which is alkaline, from our bones, gradually weakening our frame. The body will continue to look within to draw from you what it needs to maintain your pH balance, even if it means gradually breaking down your health for you to live. If over acidity becomes your lifestyle, sickness or pain may become common, and your body becomes the perfect environment for developing disease including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, etc. If sickness and disease are developed one bite at a time, it makes sense that even our most feared diseases can also be reversed by consuming nutritious/fresh foods.
YOUR HEALTH IS YOUR CHOICE. “LIVE WELL!”

CONCLUSION: You reach 25 grams much more quickly when you calculate the amount of protein in animal products against consuming plant foods. Nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits allow you to consume filling portions of foods which are highly nutritious and loaded with enzymes essential for digestion. Enjoy animal foods (one time a day or less) in small portions, and use small amounts as toppings or seasonings. Your body is never fooled: too much protein and you will pay for it over time – with declining health, or with your life!

This can be made in advance, even frozen and stored. Add fresh apple and or pineapple juice to thin the juice as desired. Add any trace minerals, Limu, vitamin drops, as this usually does not change the flavor.
To INCREASE NUTRITION, add any of the following:
-Nature Sunshine “Berry Healthy” powder,
-Halleluiah Acres “Beet Juice” powder.
-Almond butter, honey, Knox gelatin, cinnamon.
½ c. WHOLE OATS seasoned with cinnamon and Stevia, and/or WHOLE WHEAT BREAD spread of coconut oil, topped with wheat germ, toasted, may be eaten 30 minutes AFTER FRUIT has been eaten.
NOTE: FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ALONE. All other foods should be eaten 30 minutes after last bite of fruit, so fruit is NOT trapped in the stomach. When combined with other foods, purification, gas due to fermentation, and/or indigestion may occur.
LUNCH AND SUPPER IDEAS

NOTES:
1) TAKE ENZYMES when eating COOKED FOOD to aid digestion. DOUBLE the amount of enzymes taken if eating MEAT, EGGS or DAIRY.
2): MEAT, EGGS & DAIRY intake is NOT needed to meet nutritional needs. If the animal walks on four legs, do NOT eat its meat more than one time a week. If it walks on two legs, or has NO legs (fish, etc.), try to only eat meat every other day. (A MEAT SERVING SIZE is the same as a deck of cards.) Season stews and dry beans with soup bones instead of meat to enjoy the meaty flavor.
3) TREAT YOURSELF - ONE TIME A WEEK to a meal that is OFF THE MENU, but reduce serving sizes.

pH
pH
Potential of Hydrogen and Potential for Health
If you have not been eating foods that contain alkalizing minerals, your body adapts by robbing the minerals from your body because if the pH of your blood should fall much below 7.35 or rise much above 7.45, your body could not survive very long. When your reserves are not constantly replenished, your storehouses become depleted of alkalizing minerals and, eventually the constant robbing from within lead to symptoms of chronic degenerative diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis, emphysema, most major diseases, even cancer.
The acidity or alkalinity of food is measured in terms of pH. The more acid a solution, the LOWER the pH number will be; the more alkaline the substance, the HIGHER the pH number. If you are truly healthy, both your saliva and urine should register around pH 7.0 the first thing in the morning after five, or more, hours of sleep, before eating or drinking anything. Even though you usually feel good, if your diet consists mostly of meat, pasta, convenience and fast foods, starches, and coffee, cola, or energy drinks, your early morning urine will probably register as low as pH 5, or possibly as high as pH 8. Urine pH tells you how your body is reacting to the food you ate the day before. Saliva pH tells how your body has adapted to stresses in your life and its physical impact. This includes emotional stress and trauma which can also make you acidic, lowering your immunity, eventually allowing sickness and disease to develop. Ask for pH test strips at our clinic or drug store.
The food you eat determines how well your alkaline reserves are replenished. Fresh fruits and raw vegetables contribute the usable alkalizing minerals you need to restock your alkaline reserve to raise pH. When you have enough reserves, your body can buffer the acid produced naturally by cellular activity and the acid food you eat. However, readings considerably lower or higher than pH 7.0 usually indicate that your buffering reserves have been depleted and your body is breaking down to maintain the pH balance essential for your
life and survival. To be healthy, you must support your health with a high alkaline diet and lower stress levels. Alkalinity is measured with pH test strips. The numbers tell the story of how “well” you actually are. The American Diet has riddled us with sickness, disease, and pain. Schedule an appointment with B.E.S.T. practitioner, Dr. Danise Witherspoon, and learn how to track you health according to pH and “live Well.”

DIABETES - TYPE 2: YOU CAN REVERSE IT!
Diabetes -Type 2: You Can Reverse It
By The Wholefood Farmacy
If it was an infectious disease, passed from one person to another, public health officials would say we're in the midst of an epidemic. This difficult disease is striking an ever-growing number of adults. Even more alarming, it's now beginning to show up in our teenagers and children.
18 Million Americans have Diabetes 20% of those over 65 have Diabetes
1 in 3 people who have it don't know they have it 90% of cases are PREVENTABLE
It costs $132 Billion dollars a year to "treat" Of people who have Diabetes, 98% die with it
Glucose (a.k.a blood sugar) is the fuel that provides energy to the 10 Trillion cells that make up a human being. When we eat, carbohydrates are converted into glucose, the glucose then moves through the bloodstream to feed the cells. Anytime your glucose levels spike up rapidly, your brain tells your pancreas to produce insulin, a chemical messenger that rings the “dinner bell” for your cells. When the “dinner bell” rings, your cells come running to get their glucose.
Carbohydrates come in two forms natural (complex) and man-made (simple). The man-made carbs are found in processed foods such as white table sugar, candy, sodas, high fructose corn syrup, and white bread. Eating man-made carbohydrates causes sudden and sustained spikes in your glucose levels. The brain interprets this enormous rush of sugar as trauma and signals the pancreas to produce insulin. This constant over-stimulation of the pancreas, year after year after year, causes your “machinery” to wear out. In some cases, the pancreas gets tired and cannot produce enough insulin. In other cases, the “dinner bell” rings so often that the cells get tired of hearing it, and stop running to get their glucose. Either way, when this happens, the health care industry declares that you have Type 2 Diabetes.
Natural sugars, like the sugars found in fruits and other whole foods, are known as complex carbohydrates. Your body was designed to ingest them. They are much larger molecules and cross the blood brain barrier very slowly. They do not cause those sudden spikes in glucose levels, so your “machinery” can last a lifetime. It really is that simple.
Avoid Aspartame sugar replacements. These neuro-toxins actually stimulate the appetite for sweets increasing your chance for over-eating, obesity and Diabetes. Use Stevia, a natural sweetener, instead.
According to the Harvard School of Public Health, making a few changes can dramatically lower your chances of developing type 2 Diabetes. The same changes can also lower the chances of developing heart disease and some cancers.
Control your weight. Excess weight is the single most important cause of type 2 Diabetes. Being overweight increases the chances of developing type 2 Diabetes seven-fold. Being obese makes you 20 to 40 times more likely to develop diabetes than someone with a healthy weight. Losing weight can help if your weight is above the healthy-weight range. Losing 7-10% of your current weight can cut in half your chances of developing type 2 diabetes.
Get moving. Inactivity promotes type 2 diabetes. Every two hours you spend watching TV instead of pursuing something more active increases the changes of developing diabetes by 14%. Working your muscles more often and making them work harder improves their ability to use insulin and absorb glucose. This puts less stress on your insulin-making machinery. Findings from the Nurses' Health Study and Health
Professionals Follow-up Study suggest that walking briskly for a half hour every day reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 30%. Walking, benefits your entire body.
Walking before meals wakes up your system and burns stored calories. Walking 10 minutes after eating prevents your blood sugar from spiking, using the calories you have eaten to burn for energy.

CANCER: COULD YOU BE NEXT?
CANCER: Could YOU Be Next?
Fact Sheet
1. Every person has cancer cells in their body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their body after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to 10 more times in a person’s lifetime.
3. When the person’s immune system is strong - the body has the ability to destroy cancer cells, preventing cancer cells from multiplying and forming tumors.
4. When a person has cancer, it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
5. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. When little, or NO MEAT, is eaten, it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells, allowing the body’s killer cells to destroy them. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat putrefies in the intestines and leads to more toxic buildup.
6. To overcome multiple nutritional deficiencies, change diet and add supplements that build and strengthen the immune system.
7. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells, as well as HEALTHY cells
in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract, etc. It can cause organ damage to the liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, etc. The immune system becomes compromised and crippled.
8. Radiation burns, scars, and damages HEALTHY cells, tissues, and organs even though its intended target are cancer cells. The surrounding cells, tissues, and organs, cannot be missed by radiation.
9. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size.
However, prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation does not result in MORE tumor destruction.
10. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body and spirit. A proactive and positive attitude will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, being unforgiving, bitterness, and/or regret, places the body in
a state of stress and creates an acidic internal environment that is perfect for growing cancer cells. Healing requires a loving and forgiving spirit, the ability to relax, to laugh and to enjoy life.
11. The correct supplements help build the immune system. Sprouted barley in capsules or tablets, Limu, IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFA’s, etc, enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells.
12. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Walking or daily exercise, deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy may help destroy cancer cells.
13. Never drink liquids from plastic bottles that have been frozen. This releases dioxins from the plastic. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, explained this health hazard. John Hopkins also sent out this information in its newsletters.
14. Do not heat food in the microwave using plastic containers, especially foods that contain fat. The combination of: fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food, and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, use glass or ceramic container for heating food. TV dinners, instant ramen, and soups should be removed from the container and heated in glass or stainless steel cookware. Avoid using paper for cooking as you do not know its contents. Restaurants moved from using Styrofoam to paper glasses because of the dioxin problem, and release of zino-toxins. Plastic wrap allows toxins to melt out and into the food.
16. Avoid all processed foods. These are high in additives and are nutrient deficient.
15. Avoid products with high caffeine: coffee, tea, sodas, chocolate.
Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties.
Drink distilled, alkaline, RO, or purified water and avoid toxins and heavy metals found in tap water.
16. An effective way to BATTLE CANCER is to STARVE CANCER CELLS by not feeding them foods that create an acidic environment which is perfect for them to thrive and multiply.
CANCER CELLS FEED ON or ARE PROMOTED IN THE BODY BY THE FOLLOWING:
a) SUGAR. Sugar is a cancer feeder! By cutting off sugar, it cuts off one important food supply to cancer cells. Sugar substitutes, like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. are made with Aspartame which is harmful. A natural substitute is Manuka honey, or molasses in very small amounts.
b) TABLE SALT. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Bragg’s Aminos, or sea salt, are better choices. ALL CHEMICALS ARE TOXIC and should be eliminated from the diet.
c) MILK. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. CANCER FEEDS ON MUCUS. By cutting off dairy products and substituting with coconut milk, cancer cells will not have mucus to feed on.
d) MEAT – BASED DIET. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic internal environment. Meat is highly acidic using more energy than it gives when digested; plus, it contributes no enzymes. It contains antibiotics, growth hormones, parasites and poisons from pesticides, herbicides, and ear tags. All are harmful, especially to those with cancer.
PREVENTION
A DIET HIGH IN FRESH VEGETABLES AND SOME FRUITS can help put the body back into an alkaline environment. Consume a diet of 80% FRESH VEGETABLES AND FRESH VEGGIE JUICE. About 20% of your meals can be from whole grains, seeds, nuts and cooked food including beans and brown rice. Fresh vegetable juices, and fresh and steamed veggies, provide LIVE ENZYMES that are easily absorbed, reaching down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cell, drink fresh vegetable juice and eat some raw vegetables (or steamed/ sautéed’ veggies) and sprouts 2 or 3 times a day. The goal is to give your body building materials to fight cancer cells and to restore the body. Enzymes are the life of plants and are essential to your life, necessary for digestion and absorption of nutrients. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 F (40 degrees C), making all cooked food – dead food. When eating food that has had heat or cooked, it is essential to take digestive enzymes with your meals to help replace the enzymes that were destroyed.
CHEW YOUR FOOD! A liquid diet is best for fastest healing. However, this is not how we live. So, take small bites of food and chew each bite 20 times until there is nothing left to chew. This helps digestion to begin in the mouth. When possible, drink FRESH carrot/apple/celery juice, and eat large amounts of spinach fresh salads, and fresh/steamed or sautéed vegetables.
